A Cast icon or compatible receiver does not prove every stream can be sent. App, media and network discovery support must all be checked.
A casting logo is not universal playback support.
Google’s guidance depends on a Cast-enabled app, a compatible receiver and network discovery. A player, permission or network setting can affect discovery separately from the source itself. Confirm the actual sending and receiving devices.
The platform guidance below describes the manufacturer’s route. Current StarShare compatibility for the selected app, account and device still needs confirmation.
Before entering account details.
- Put the source device and compatible receiver on the appropriate same network.
- Use an up-to-date Cast-enabled app.
- Check required local-network permission and select its receiver.
Keep the hardware model, operating system, app publisher/version and account method together. Installing a player does not itself supply a StarShare subscription or a separate platform membership.
Use an observable first test.
Record whether the receiver is missing, the connection fails or playback starts and then stops. Those are different observations.
After installing the confirmed compatible app, contact StarShare through WhatsApp to request the one-day free trial. Use your normal screen, output path and network. Check one known source, compare another permitted item and record the time of any failure.
Preserve credentials before changing a configuration. A refresh, app restart, data-clear operation and full device reset can have different effects. Use the actual platform prompt and avoid destructive recovery as the first diagnostic action.
