The useful distinctions

  • Setup associates a network with tuners before service discovery.
  • Mux scanning finds services.
  • Clients select channels mapped to services.
  • Relationships between the configuration object types can be many-to-many.

Ask where the object is missing

A channel list is the end of a configuration chain. When an entry is absent, determine the last stage at which its intended source is visible. This narrows the investigation to a missing association, discovery result or mapping. Starting another scan without that distinction can add activity while leaving an already discovered service unavailable to the client.

Use a small object inventory

The original worksheet uses a fictional network and programme name. Fill the same kind of inventory from the configuration you administer, recording only the objects relevant to one missing channel. A service existing in the server is different from a channel being available for selection. Likewise, a visible channel name does not by itself establish that its mapped source is the one you intended to use.

Repair the identified boundary

If a scan has not found the service, investigate the source and mux stage. If it has, review the channel mapping before changing tuner drivers or client playback settings. Keep a before note when a configuration relationship changes, especially where more than one source can supply a channel. This makes a support report precise enough to explain which link is missing without publishing real channel URLs or private server identifiers.

A focused way to proceed

  1. Confirm that the intended tuner has the intended network association.
  2. Inspect the relevant mux scan result for the expected service.
  3. Inspect whether that service is mapped to an intended channel.
  4. Retry the client only after the missing stage has been identified.

Worked example · synthetic

Fictional inventory:
Adapter: Workshop Tuner
Network association: Workshop Lab
Mux scan: service Workshop Demonstration found
Channel mapping: absent
Next check: mapping, before another scan

Read the comparison

A discovered service can exist without a client-selectable channel mapping.

When to stop or ask for help

Escalate with the last successful stage and relevant object relationships, not a generic claim that no channels work.
