Use the device’s actual update menu
Roku documents a manual check in its system settings. The wording can vary with interface version, so identify the software-update area rather than demanding that an older screenshot match every label. Record the current device/build information when it is shown. That is more precise than assuming a restart alone has updated the device.
Choose a clear reason for the check
A device returning from an extended offline period or a recently added app can justify inspecting the update state. Finish the offered operation before judging how the Home Screen or app behaves. Do not combine the check with removing several apps or resetting network settings unless another documented observation requires that change.
Keep feature support separate
An update completing normally does not establish that a particular third-party application exposes every feature mentioned elsewhere. Reopen the relevant app and repeat the original task, noting that result separately from the system-maintenance result. If no update is offered, record the actual message. A no-update outcome is not evidence that a different similarly named app should be installed.
