Pick a destination that deserves a shortcut
LG’s model-specific walkthrough assigns a selected app, channel or input to Quick Access. Choose a destination that you use regularly and identify it carefully before assigning the key. A programme recommendation and an application may not be the same target. The shortcut should remove navigation effort, not conceal uncertainty about which player is installed.
Test from an ordinary starting point
After confirming the assignment, return to a normal television screen and use the documented held-number action. That checks the real launch route instead of only showing that the assignment dialogue accepted a choice. Keep the chosen number easy to communicate to other people using the television. Do not assume every physical number key is available for reassignment; reserved functions and supported controls vary by model.
Revise the shortcut rather than reinstalling
The edit interface is the appropriate place to inspect a mistaken or outdated assignment. If the shortcut reaches the right app but the app reports its own error, the launch convenience has worked and that error is a separate matter. Removing and reinstalling the app just to change a number-key assignment creates unnecessary state changes and makes the original layout task harder to undo.
