Choose a single structure

A series layout is easiest to maintain when each level has one purpose. The series folder identifies the programme; the season folder groups an ordered run; the file identifies the episode or combined programme. Apply that structure to a small known series before reorganizing a whole television collection. Mixing styles in the same series makes a later review harder because a missing item can be mistaken for a numbering problem.

Plan around combined files

A double-length recording is a physical file boundary, not necessarily two independent playback objects. Jellyfin documents a combined entry for a file covering multiple episodes. Decide whether that presentation suits your collection before naming a large number of joined recordings. Use the catalogue as evidence

After scanning, compare the number and identity of displayed entries with the files you intentionally supplied.
