Name the destination clearly
The words Apple TV can refer to hardware, its television interface or an app. A request to return to Apple TV is therefore ambiguous. Decide whether you mean the installed-app launcher or the Apple TV app’s own landing page. Apple’s navigation guide documents a preference that makes the TV button return to the device Home Screen.
Change the button preference
Inspect the current TV Button value and make the intended choice in the device settings. This is a navigation preference, so it should not require reinstalling another player or changing its login details. Keep the remote model and software context with your notes; a screenshot from another generation may show a different arrangement of controls.
Check the complete navigation path
Start from an ordinary app screen and use the intended single press. Confirm which surface appears before deciding whether the change met the need. A button reaching the launcher does not close every app or remove an installation. If the problem instead concerns repeated presses, a stuck button or a nonresponsive interface, record that separately rather than continuing to change the destination preference.
