Use the usage list as the starting point
Apple TV streams media but still uses local space for installed applications. Apple’s storage view helps identify that usage. Start with the actual list rather than guessing from which app was last opened or which icon looks most prominent. A navigation failure in one player and a device-storage warning are different reasons for investigation.
Choose a removal target deliberately
Inspect the relevant app entry and understand what its available removal actions change. Keep the app’s identity and a legitimate reinstall route available before removing software that will be needed again. A shared television may contain apps used by other people, so a storage recovery decision should not silently remove their expected setup.
Compare storage separately from app function
After an authorised removal or offload, review the usage result. Then assess any original player symptom as another test. If an app opens but a remote service responds differently, that is not a storage measurement. Recording the selected app, the removal mode and the resulting space observation is clearer than claiming that a general cleanup has improved every part of the viewing setup.
