Applies to: A guide view is empty while filters, search or a selected group may be narrowing the display.
The useful distinctions
- A view can show a subset of available records.
- A zero-result selection does not alone establish an empty source.
- The current search and date context belong in the diagnostic record.
Record the view that produced no results
An empty screen is incomplete evidence if the current view is restricted. Note the selected date and any visible search term, group or other constraint. Use only controls that the actual interface provides; this article does not assert a universal reset path or filter feature. The useful question is whether the empty result belongs to a narrow selection or whether the intended programme window remains empty when that selection no longer excludes it.
Compare without altering identity or access
Where a safe reset exists, clear the relevant presentation restriction and inspect the same intended service and date. Keep working account details and approved source references unchanged. If records appear, preserve which restriction affected the result. If the view stays empty, the source or identity question remains open. A successful presentation check does not prove complete future coverage, but it can prevent unnecessary credential changes prompted by a zero-result filter.
Hypothetical worked example
On 8 November 2026, a fictional guide search contains “orhcard”, a misspelling of “orchard”. No programme appears in that constrained view. Clearing the search reveals the intended dated entry. The observation supports a search-selection explanation for that result, not a claim that every empty guide is caused by a typo. The record should preserve both the entered term and what appeared after the safe presentation reset.
A focused way to proceed
- Record any visible search, category or date restriction.
- If the interface provides a safe reset, compare the unfiltered intended window.
- Report the result without claiming features that are absent from the actual interface.
When to stop or ask for help
State whether the intended records remain missing after any actual presentation restriction is removed.
